ELIZABETH DE VARGA - TRUNK SHOW

The Elizabeth de Varga Exclusive Fashions label began in 1984 and has grown to be a recognized force in the fashion industry, particularly in bridal wear.  Brides of Adelaide, this is a once off opportunity to view the entire selection of their best designs.  This spectacular annual trunk show event is proudly hosted by Jenny & Gerry's Bridal House, where you will be able to meet and speak to the designer herself, Tammie Nitschke, who will be in Adelaide over the 2 days and in-store to offer all her expertise and bridal styling advice. These spectacular gowns are made entirely in Australia from the finest local and imported fabrics available. The inspiration for the gowns comes from many areas.  A love of fine laces, pure silks, delustred satins, rich brocades, delicate tulles and hand bead-work all create the Elizabeth de Varga Exclusive Fashions distinctive image.

On Saturday 28th of April, Jenny & Gerry's Bridal House we will be popping bubbles to celebrate this event and a live model will showcase every gown to truly appreciate these exquisite gowns which are all made in silks, silk satins, silk chiffons and French laces to die for!

MARC JACOBS

I still love this Marc Jacobs gown as much today as the first time I laid eyes on it. A piece from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 collection, it was worn by a radiant Christina Ricci to the 3rd annual amfAR cinema against AIDS event, part of the Dubai International film festival in December 2009.
I absolutely adore the ethereal floating quality and that amazing sketch like detail. I can just picture this as part of a stunning contemporary wedding, although surely this is classified as 'vintage' Marc Jacobs right?!
Lady Gaga has also donned this gown, however in my opinion not nearly as successfully. I don't think I have ever seen Miss Ricci looking quite so beautiful, her makeup is flawless and her hair which looks wonderful in it's own right only serves to accentuates the gown detail.

Hollywood Inspiration

When I imagine a swan, I picture poise, beauty, elegance and grace - all synonymous with any stylish bride and after seeing the movie 'The Black Swan' starring Natalie Portman, I was inspired by the true elegance and beauty of feathers.  I just love the simplicity and the sensuality that feathers bring to bridal fashion.  This ostrich feathered clutch I came across, with its beautiful long silky feathers and gold frame, is a beautiful statement piece for any soft and romantic wedding theme. And a girl just can't go past these magnificent sky-high Manolo Blahnik feather T strap sandals…paired with a bridal gown in a similar colour, you are bound to have a winning combination…

Icons Of The Silver Screen

Calling upon inspiration from the 1920's and 1950's, Pina Fiorenza's 2011 bridal collection pays tribute to the icons of the silver screen.  Inspired by the old-fashioned simplicity, luxury and femininity synonymous with the likes of Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner.  I have always loved her use of details like bows, sashes, crystals and laces that make each gown look ever so feminine.  Embellishments gather to form subtle focus points, with vintage belts, soft texture and trimmings luxurious treatment to each gown.  Be sure to visit Bridal On Pulteney where you can see Fiorenza's exciting new 2011 bridal collection - something different, something special...
