SAJA

Sometimes the perfect choice is a simple one. These stunning gowns from Saja are somehow understated and breathtaking all at once. The ethereal flowy fabrics, the delicate beading, the timeless design. I look at these dresses and I can just imagine what it would feel like to wear one, they look ridiculously comfortable. I suspect it's because of that sumptuous draping? They look... effortless... in the very best possible way. Based out of New York, the sole international store is in Canada. We would like to register our vote for Australia next please? Adelaide to be specific? Saja also has a range of belts, sashes and boleros that are as beautiful as the gowns themselves and did I mention that the entire Saja collection is amazingly nicely priced?

STATEMENT NECKLACES

I simply cannot tell you how much I love a statement necklace. Whether worn all day or as a bold addition to reception attire they are just the ultimate in personality filled glamour. With no end of gorgeous styles, from dramatic crystal pieces, to bohemian chic, to exotic explosions of colour - your statement necklace really can be anything you want it to be and a perfect expression of you. It's also has the added advantage of being a trend with an option to suit any budget. Adelaide's fabulous Miss Martini has a stunning array of statement pieces and would be a brilliant place to start the hunt for your own jaw dropping piece. Good luck!

IN SEASON

Their botanical name is Eustoma grandiflorum and among popular common names are Prairie Gentian, Texas Blue-bell, Lisianther, Lisianthus or more affectionatley, Lissis. Available most of the year, they are at their best  in late spring/summer. Lissi's have quite a thin stem that is usually cut between 20 to 70 centimetres and a soft delicate blossom that 'unwinds' it's petals to become a similar size to a rose. There are now also double petal varieties that are described as looking almost like peonies with their abundant bloom. Available in a beautiful  range of hues from pastel pinks and purples, white, cream, yellow, pale green to a vibrant purple there are plenty of options to choose from. There are even two tone varieties available that have 'tipped' petals of pink or purple.
A fabulous choice for a more simplistic contemporary bouquet or a perfect complement to peonies or roses for a more traditional romantic look, as they are not overbearing in any way these gorgeous flowers are an elegant & timeless addition to a very wide range of wedding styles.

GOLDEN PEEP-TOES

These golden hued Klub Nico peep-toe heels are a bit nice, yes? Loving the subtle shimmer, the elegant crossover strap and the crisp half bow. Handmade in Brazil, they are a wonderful contemporary take on a classic stiletto style. I think they are a fabulous option for those wanting an alternative to ivory, but not quite ready to take the plunge to 'pop' colour. Gorgeous peeking from beneath a glamorous floor length wedding gown or on full display with a tea length gown, these stunners would complement such a wide range of wedding attire. Even if you aren't the bride!

MARC JACOBS

I still love this Marc Jacobs gown as much today as the first time I laid eyes on it. A piece from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 collection, it was worn by a radiant Christina Ricci to the 3rd annual amfAR cinema against AIDS event, part of the Dubai International film festival in December 2009.
I absolutely adore the ethereal floating quality and that amazing sketch like detail. I can just picture this as part of a stunning contemporary wedding, although surely this is classified as 'vintage' Marc Jacobs right?!
Lady Gaga has also donned this gown, however in my opinion not nearly as successfully. I don't think I have ever seen Miss Ricci looking quite so beautiful, her makeup is flawless and her hair which looks wonderful in it's own right only serves to accentuates the gown detail.

NEW ISSUE LAUNCH

What an amazing and hectic weekend it was for the team launching the brand new issue of Brides Of Adelaide Magazine at the bridal expo. We are all a bit sore from two full days on our feet carrying around boxes and boxes and boxes full of the most incredible issue yet but it was absolutely-definitely-one-hundred-percent worth it to have had the chance to meet so many gorgeous brides (as well as grooms, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom) who were all so happy to get their hands on the latest issue and to have had the opportunity to chat with so many people who are just as excited and in love with this issue as we are. We love receiving feedback in any form but of course that is our favourite kind!
It was also fabulous to see what our wonderful wedding professionals are up to and to meet some fantastic newcomers to the magazine, who we are just thrilled at the prospect of working with on the next issue - yes it's already in the works!
A huge thank you for all your wonderful comments and congratulations again to our two brides who won our expo double pass Facebook giveaway - it was lovely to meet you and we hope you had a great time!
